Friday 19 December 2025 saw 2 important milestones in the history of Saye & Sele Conclave No. 122.
The Conclave marked 150 years since it’s consecration, and at the same time celebrated (to the day) the 50th anniversary of V.Ill.Kt. David Leigh’s installation into the Order.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, the Conclave was visited by the Grand Sovereign M. Ill. Kt. Graham Flight G.C.C., accompanied by the Grand Marshal and the Grand Sepulchre Guard. Also in attendance were our Intendant General, R.Ill.Kt. J. Stuart Graves accompanied by his Deputy, Ill. Kt. David Lucas, his Divisional Marshall, Ill. Kt. Mark Stevens and the Divisional Recorder Ill.Kt. Richard Sams.
The Grand Sovereign advised those present that in his 12 years as Head of the Order he had only presented a handful of 50-year certificates and jewels, and that each was a special occasion as it marked the immense contribution each recipient has made to the Order.
In presenting the Certificate & Jewel to V.Ill.Kt. David, the Grand Sovereign paid tribute to David’s work, commenting that it was not usual for recipients to be working until 20 minutes before the presentation (David had started the meeting as Conclave Marshal). To finish off, the Grand Sovereign invested V.Ill.Kt. David with a field promotion to Past Grand Junior General, which was met with sustained applause from all present.
A truly wonderful meeting, recognising the commitment of a faithful servant of the Order.
